Michael advises clients on a wide range of employment and workplace and safety related matters including industrial action, unfair dismissals, employment contracts, negotiating and drafting enterprise agreements, implementing redundancies, equal opportunity and discrimination issues and dealing with workplace safety issues.
Michael regularly provides advice in relation to disciplinary and unfair dismissal proceedings and represents employers in conferences and hearings before the State Industrial Commission, Fair Work Australia, State Administrative Tribunal and the federal courts.
Michael is a special counsel in Lavan’s Employment and Safety team. Michael has over 20 years’ experience in employment law. Prior to joining Lavan in 1995, Michael worked in the industrial section of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry as an advocate. He has a vast practical and theoretical knowledge of a wide range of legal issues associated with the workplace and the employment of staff, with a particular interest in disability discrimination as it applies to inclusive education.
