2014 long weekends: applications for extended trading hours

The deadline this year for lodging an application for extended trading on Sundays of long weekends is 31 October 2013.
The following dates are the 2014 Sundays of long weekends:

• 26 January 2014 (Australia Day).

• 2 March 2014 (Labour Day).

• 20 April 2014 (Easter Sunday).

• 1 June 2014 (WA Day).

• 28 September 2014 (Queen’s Birthday).

Applications for extended trading hours must be accompanied by submissions addressing the following:

• the public interest in granting the extended trading hours; and

• the strategies the licensee will have in place to minimise harm.

If an application is approved, then the licensee will be notified by 20 December 2013.
