2011 long weekend Extended Trading Permit update

The 5 August 2010 Snapshot dealt with the change in long weekend Extended Trading Permits (ETPs) applicable to 2011.  Since that snapshot was issued the licensing authority has further advised that 2011 long weekend ETP applications will:

  1. need to establish that the ETP is in the public interest;

  2. need to provide details of policies the licensee intends to implement to minimise harm; and

  3. no longer require a letter drop to residents in the immediate locality of the licensed premises as part of the application process.

If successful, licensees who apply for next year’s long weekend ETPs should expect to receive notification on or before 1 February 2011.

Licensees may apply for long weekend ETPs for the following dates in 2011:

Sunday, 6 March (Labour Day);                             Sunday, 2 October (Queen’s Birthday); and

Sunday, 24 April (Easter);                                      Sunday, 25 December (Christmas).

Sunday, 5 June (Foundation Day);

Licensees may also apply for a long weekend ETP for Sunday, 1 January 2012 (New Year’s Day).

Licensees are reminded that the 2011 long weekend ETP application deadline is 31 October 2010.
