Bernard Hill is a consultant in Lavan’s Employment, Safety & Education team.
Bernard has more than 20 years expertise in complaints resolution, child protection, school governance, and education law.
He has worked across diverse sectors including serving as Legal Counsel for Catholic Education WA from 2011-2023, as Director of Professional Standards and Conduct for Curtin University 2011 -2012, and as Director of Professional Standards for the Anglican Church in WA 2009 – 2011.
Prior to this, Bernard served full time in the Australian Air Force for 12 years as a Legal Officer following his admission to practice in 1989. He then transitioned to the Reserves, providing part-time services as Defence Counsel. Notably, he held the position of Director of Military Training where he supervised legal education for all Defence personnel.
