Ahshiba Sultana is a special counsel in Lavan’s Construction & Infrastructure team.
Ahshiba’s practice relates to the resolution of disputes arising from engineering and construction projects. Such disputes include the usual disputes relating to time, cost or quality which frequently arises in projects. She also has extensive experience in providing advice during the life of projects to avoid or minimise the occurrence of disputes.
Ahshiba completed her Masters in Construction Law with the University of Melbourne in 2024 and prior to that she graduated with Distinction from Murdoch University in 2014.
She started her career at an international law firm and joined Lavan in 2015 as a solicitor. She has experience in trial and litigation, statutory adjudications, expert determinations, commercial arbitration and alternative dispute resolution processes and has acted for a variety of clients including private clients (such as builders, developers, contractors and strata companies) and government clients in relation to matters in the building and construction sector and ancillary sectors. Her experience encompasses appearing as counsel for her clients where appropriate
