About The Role

Join our Employment, Safety and Education Team, working closely with partners, Bruno Di Girolami and Ian Curlewis. The team advises on every aspect of human resource management and workplace relations including industrial relations, workplace contracts, workplace policies, occupational health and safety and dispute resolution.  

You will work within an employer-based practice across a broad spectrum of industries, including a wide range of clients in the corporate, construction, mining, energy, aged care and education sectors.

You will be involved in a range of complex and challenging matters, including:

  • Drafting employment contracts and enterprise agreements;
  • Developing employment policies and legislative compliant practice manuals;
  • Advising on workplace health and safety compliance, including major incident investigations;
  • Handling work, health, and safety complaints and prosecutions;
  • Representing clients in industrial relations matters, including industrial action and bargaining;
  • Managing responses to workplace and equal opportunity claims;
  • Assisting with executive termination strategies and mutual exits;
  • Resolving workplace disputes in all Federal and State jurisdictions, including unfair dismissal, unlawful termination, underpayment claims, and discrimination-based claims; and
  • Formulating practical and relevant solutions with representation at Fair Work Commission and the courts where necessary.

About You

We are seeking a lawyer with at least 3+ years post-admission experience with a demonstrated background as an employment and workplace relations lawyer. Your experience is predominantly based in advising and representing employers on workplace related matters.

Further to the relevant legal experience, you will also have:

  • Interest in business development and attending events;
  • A desire to learn and continuously improve;
  • Attention to detail and technical skills;
  • Strong work ethic with a commitment to excellence;
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team; and
  • A collaborative approach to the delivery of work within a highly skilled team.
